-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 # THE MANIFESTO OF HERON HOUSE 151 - --- In this time of political, cultural, and economic strife, there is simultaneously hope and despair around the world. We have watched on for far too long as the systems of oppression ground on and we have sat slack-jawed for far too long as fascism has grown and spread its disease. Fascism has found hold around the world, from Brazil to Poland, from The Philippines to the United States. The situation appears grim as those who seek freedom from oppression find themselves outnumbered and outgunned. Fear not, comrades. For today a new day has dawned. It is time to rise up. The hour has come to dispense with performative politicking and useless exercises. Our enemy is committing itself to an orgy of violence and we must resist this at all costs. The question is, how? The answer, friends, is simple. To take a stand in a principled nature, to stand for something better, something worth fighting for. Today, we turn the tables and stop standing around waiting for a savior. But what do we fight for? We fight for freedom. The freedom to be who we wish to be, to be beholden to no man and shackled no more. The freedom to be judged by the content of our character, the results of our acts, and by no other criteria. The freedom to live peacefully, to live comfortably, to be happy and fulfilled. The freedom to choose our destiny and to explore and wonder. The freedom to love. We fight for justice. We fight to ensure that all wrongs can be made right, that everyone gets a second, third or even thirtieth chance. We fight to lift up one another and to level the playing field, to bring about equity for all. We fight for universal access, so that all may be independent and self-sustaining. We fight to acknowledge the sordid history of our world and to do what can be realistically be done to move forward ethically, peacefully, as equals. We fight for human rights. We fight to ensure that every man, woman, and child has a warm bed at night, a shelter in the storm, a comfortable abode to live in, access to health care without condition, food in their pantry and in their bellies, and all that is necessary to sustain human life including clean water, clean air, open space to explore the natural world in. We fight for women's rights, children's rights, men's rights, the rights of people of color, of the indigenous, of LGBTQA+, for the mentally ill, for the disabled, for every human being on this planet, without condition. We fight for a world where restorative justice and support for one another is the norm, not the exception. We fight for a world where power is diminished, social hierarchy is crushed, and humankind has no masters but goodwill and peace. We fight for a home to live in as a species, a home that will last centuries to come, where humankind and nature can coexist. We fight for a home from which to reach to the stars. These goals will not come easy. They will require fighting, both literal and figurative. They will require sacrifice. They will require us all to leap from our comfort zones and stand tall. Thus far the strategy of the left has been to recycle failed practices of the past, to lack the tenacity of vision, and to abandon strategic thinking. We know why: your extent in training has been to read books, debate theory, dunk on one another over petty arguments, to tone police and gate-keep, maintain appearances of being a leftist above all else. No one has taught you or engaged you in the systematic change of global systems of power. You seek freedom, justice, and human rights but are unsure of how to obtain them. We seek to upend the standard processes and procedures as usual within the left and to bring about change by leveraging the full breadth of the toolbox of the fight for a better future. We are Heron House 151. We ask you to join us, but we're not going to tell you exactly how. We will tell you that you must organize: talk with one another in hushed tones, meet in person where you can speak freely and openly even during this pandemic. Talk with one another. Know your city and your surroundings, know how things move and how things tick. Learn. Learn everything you can. Learn with intention. Think like someone who wants to change the world for the better. Learn how to protect yourselves. We will be here at the HeronHouse. Mix and Nym. Net cast wide. There is only one Heron House, and it shall be known by this key and be validatable. ``` - -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Comment: User-ID: THE HERON HOUSE Comment: Type: 256-bit EdDSA Comment: Fingerprint: C656D457F5925D92F438A7ED75784A5E6A6438FE mDMEX5GOjhYJKwYBBAHaRw8BAQdA0spYPfFXBjA6kKcNUhiI7TbV+DPixFbOu3S0 k1szqY20D1RIRSBIRVJPTiBIT1VTRYiQBBMWCAA4FiEExlbUV/WSXZL0OKftdXhK XmpkOP4FAl+Rjo4CGwMFCwkIBwIGFQoJCAsCBBYCAwECHgECF4AACgkQdXhKXmpk OP6GaQEAh9eGbNasMQCVcwGZ6wdNow2Uix34JZFfh8XSpkP1JCcA/1ziSk8yKCWL HGRzpT01dmWoFR+M1mD28lSc097Ec3IPuDgEX5GOjhIKKwYBBAGXVQEFAQEHQOaX DzfMNY6r9DS2SvATVVE0jpNNBs4tOnK4znENDaFBAwEIB4h4BBgWCAAgFiEExlbU V/WSXZL0OKftdXhKXmpkOP4FAl+Rjo4CGwwACgkQdXhKXmpkOP7MPQEAkJ7WwRHm VD6onwh+lVfEbP9xnZQUH94keaTee1Xteg0BAKXhVj+SiBY0QhzKYTdoiDU9ySMA dZ9yONAjcu2GpWkN =/5za - -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- ``` We will see you as the wind blows by-and-by.
