I don't think any are living in our solar system. And it's not
necessary. And it's not logical.

Instability -- just the right amount -- may be necessary in order
to turbo charge evolution.

An organism perfectly adapted to its environment really can't
evolve. That would be a DISADVANTAGE. But if something happens
to that environment then it can easily become a "Change or Die"
situation...

"They," in this case, would be micro organisms. It wouldn't seem
possible that such life could evolve to a technological phase...

This is why I usually try to include "Intelligent" and/or
"Technological" life, and not just "Life."

SETI isn't looking for bacteria. They're looking for an intelligent,
technological civilization.
