As much as I enjoyed this mini-series, I prefer the rogue wave over a bomb blowing a hole in it and that somehow causes the ship to capsize.

Dont know, a Show off of his supposed power over the ship perhaps....because throughout the mini series its made blatantly obvious that this is a suicide terrorist attack.

Terrorist: "It had to be done...me...i'm just the instrument" is what he tells rogo when he's asked about why he caused this to happen.

He expected the ship to sink to fund whatever asinine terrorist message he and his superiors wanted to send out, he just never counted on it causing the ship to capsize.

well, only the 1972 movie is really good. The 2006 movie was just good CGI with nothing but a plain and boring plot and unlikable characters behind it.

The hole was way closer to the stern too. The ship, according to physics, should not have capsized perfectly like that. If it was more realistic, it would have sank from the stern and way, WAY slower. Like Britannic slow. (About 1 hour.)

Realvlogger playschannel Yeah it's a movie, i just find the giant wave more preferable and realistic to flipping a ship upside down.

Although for a miniseries it was surprisingly not bad and i found it rather enjoyable, like "Mysterious Island" with Patrick Stewart as Captain Nemo.

For one thing, I can agree that it'd be weird to think how a terrorist planted bomb could end up capsizing a whole cruise ship, and the fact the CGI doesn't look as good as 2006's "POSEIDON", but why not appreciate the fact all of the interior capsizing scenes were practical effects? I assume the rooms were slowly rotated using some mechanism, but that to me is impressive for a Television Mini-Series. Hands down, this movie is highly underrated. There may be more reasons than this one comment, but that's to show the movie isn't as bad the people say it is.

We really didn't start seeing good TV CGI until the middle of the 2010s.

But yes, here the physics are very wonky and wrong, as the ship should've just started sinking at the stern, remaining upright even with a destroyed stabilizer. (I'm not an expert on extra tall superliners, so let me know if I'm wrong about this)

The interior practical effects were good, and the sets were mounted inside a rotating barrel like mechanism. That's why all of the rooms are so small.

In order for the ship to capsize like this, it would have to have its whole side blown up, causing that whole side to flood. The capsizing would still take a long time, so many passengers will have enough time to head to the lifeboats. But because the ship was blown up by her stern, it would take probably hours to sink. Probably 2 or 3 hours. Most of the passengers would be able to escape. It would just be another Coasta Concordia.
