The problem is he was playing PR games with his maskless rallys in the midst of the pandemic. Even if he didn't get infected directly, one of his people might have. Then the infection would "travel down the chain" eventually getting to him. This is most likely what happened.
Call it karma, or Darwin, or whatever, his foolish behavior got him into this mess, as well as his wife and many, many others.
If any good comes out of this, it will show people just how serious and dangerous a pandemic is, and hopefully discourage any more maskless gatherings and house parties.
