My cousin had 
Presumably 

A stroke when traveling in italy
She was found sitting on a park bench with her documents missing
She believed she was in kyiv in her apartment with her brother

Her sister went over to retrieve her
She moved back to the states

Extensive testing was inconclusive

She moved to assisted living  where she got care for years

As she got older she got typical diseases of aging, and had a diagnosis of
dementia

Over the past year or so she has been in hospice
I assume her cause of death was the dementia
