Many of us have, or will have this problem. Finding a replacment that's used doesn't really solve the problem as since they are used, it will happen eventually to the next one. I'll try something similar to the ballon - using a thick black plastic glove and cut it out to go in the ball socket. I have the same issue, the socket nubs are broken & the black ring has fallen off. Right now, I've got silicon black bands wrapped around the ball...it helps some, but it still moves. I've even bought a replacement socket kit from a Chinese supplier...it's still moving. Looks promising, but then when I hit a bump with such a low car.... lol, never knew the roads need paving so much in my life, until I've had this Corvette. Love driving it, it's great, so can look over that I guess for now. My next fix for it, will be adding black putty (that's removeable), in the ball socket of the replacement socket part, seeing if that will hold the ball still and tight enought to work.? We shall see...if it doesn't; I'll add a plastic layer around the ball, and then add crazy glue or similar to the putty and ball glove plastic -- so the ball can be removed later on if needed. Hope this works! I'll keep at it, until something works...that's changeable in the future, for a new buyer later on.
