Carfax.com provides free service records under Service History.

My 2005 WRX's records go back to 2011 and include dealer service and recalls, independent Subaru service, and state emissions tests.

I have noticed Carfax Service History reported on Carvana.com vehicle listings including ownership transfers. My impression is that the depth and detail of the reported service is dependent on the care and attention the service technician provides. A first-rate dealership or independent garage may give greater detail than a slacker at another service provider.

Carfax Service History also allows owners to enter DIY service events including oil changes, etc.

Oddly, when my car was lightly damaged by a USPS letter carrier's vehicle late last year, the repair by Caliber Collision, a nation-wide company, was not listed on Carfax though I know that the car insurance industry has a centralized collision tracking and repair system.
