So I'm wondering- does this > dealer have access to the car's service history and problems or not? It probably depends on the individual dealer (some may not even be officially licensed Subaru dealers), so best to ask them. In some cases / places authorised third-party repair centres may also have access to the service history. Of course, what's actually on that service history will depend on how efficiently the dealer / repair centre does their data entry. For a second-hand car, it will also depened on where previous owners had it serviced.
