It sounds like an exercise in futility since there is NO SUCH THING AS FEDERAL MARRIAGE. At best they are States laws because some may say it's a power not denied to the States, but that's also NOT clear. Gays interest in marriage doesn't make it part of the U.S. Constitution. Marriage is Still a State issue until they find different. Equality is NOT a power delegated to the United States to force on Americans. *Amendment XIV* Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; *nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty* , *or property, without due process of law* ; *nor deny to any person* *within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws* . nor deny to any person within *its jurisdiction* the equal protection of the laws. This refers to the Government denying equal protection and says nothing of delegating powers for making laws to FORCE WE THE PEOPLE to be equal in our private sector lives, it's intended to limit government segregation NOT force private sector associations of persons who do NOT feel the need to be integrated into private groups and personal circles of friendship.... Government is NOT intended to decide those things for me in my private life, those things being where I go or who I interact with. It is NOT the government's business and is a violation of the 4th Amendment for the Government to presume that it knows where I should travel and who my personal relationships should include better than I know who those relationships should include. To my point, I'm NOT interested in visiting or living or hanging out with the Martha's Vineyard jet set.... never was never will be. No matter how much money I have or don't have. No matter what color or class or sexual or drug addicted confusion they enjoy, I'm just NOT interested in the idea of being there. And the government has no delegated power to build them houses next to me or send them on buses to shop in my local NON GOVERNMENT OWNED store or go to my local private schools... I don't need to be integrated with the Martha's Vineyard aristocracy. And trying to force it on me is violating my RIGHT to choose.
