The criticism is that unless you are trained to use guns and familiar
with their use, the most likely thing is that your opponent will take
it away from you and shoot you with it.  The nice thing about bear
spray, is that if a bad guy takes it away, he isn't going to be able
to kill you with it.

If you are so very paranoid that you think you need such defense
around town.
