Does it bear mentioning that "gun control" is one of the classic
"interminable debates" on the Net?

Also:  it _does_ bear mentioning that the classic trope, "firearms
are designed to kill, so that's all they're good for" is easily
disproved, since many times a warning shot will send bad guys fleeing.

In fact, when I was in the USCG, racking a shotgun was
considered a "warning shot" -- and believe me, that gets people's attention.
