Our rescue pup (German Shepherd/Husky, at a guess) passed away overnight; he was 14 years old. We'd scheduled his last visit to the vet for today. He was a happy dog despite increasing mobility issues until yesterday afternoon. This past Sunday, he tried to chase a rabbit that crossed the driveway when he was outside. He came into our home when he was 7-8 months old. We were his second family because he overwhelmed the senior dog in his first placement. He had multiple issues, including hating thunder and fireworks, until his hearing diminished. We often suspected he ended up in at the shelter after a tornado or severe storm when he was even younger. When it was stormy, he tried to get everyone into our storm shelter. Once he was here on the rural property, he got long walks, to swim in a pond and chase various things. Unfortunately, he was a slow learner and got sprayed by a skunk at least five times. Now his sister (another German Shepherd) is trying to figure out where he is. Cindy Wells
