PSALMS 6

According to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.
1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
nor discipline me in the heat of Your anger.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am weak;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are terrified.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) My soul is greatly troubled,
but You, O Lord, how long?
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Return, O Lord, rescue my soul.
Save me for the sake of Your lovingkindness.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) For in death there is no remembrance of You;
in Sheol who will give You thanks?
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) I am weary with my groaning;
all night I flood my bed with weeping;
I drench my couch with my tears.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) My eye wastes away from grief;
it grows weak because of all those hostile to me.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2 ) The Lord has heard my supplication;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) May all my enemies be ashamed and greatly terrified;
may they turn back and be suddenly ashamed.

Psalm 6
To the chief Musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David.
1 O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger,
Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak:
O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
3 My soul is also sore vexed:
But thou, O LORD, how long?
4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul:
Oh save me for thy mercies' sake.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee:
In the grave who shall give thee thanks?
6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim;
I water my couch with my tears.
7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief;
It waxeth old because of all mine enemies.
8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity;
For the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.
9 The LORD hath heard my supplication;
The LORD will receive my prayer.
10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed:
Let them return and be ashamed suddenly.

1 O Lord, our Lord,
how excellent is Your name in all the earth!
You have set Your glory
above the heavens.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength
because of Your enemies,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) When I consider Your heavens,
the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which You have established,
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) what is man that You are mindful of him,
and the son of man that You attend to him?

1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
Who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

PSALMS 9

A Psalm of David.
1 I will give thanks to You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will declare all Your marvelous works.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) When my enemies are turned back,
they will stumble and perish at Your presence.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) For You have maintained my right and my cause;
You sat on the throne judging what is right.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) You have rebuked the nations,
You have destroyed the wicked,
You have wiped out their name forever and ever.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) O you enemy, destructions
have come to you for a perpetual end.
You have destroyed cities;
their memory perished with them.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) But the Lord remains forever;
He has established His throne for judgment.

He will give judgment to the peoples in uprightness.

a refuge in times of trouble.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) Those who know Your name will put their trust in You,
for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) Sing praises to the Lord who dwells in Zion;
declare His deeds among the people.
12 He who avenges deaths remembers them;
He does not forget the cry of the humble.
13 Be gracious to me, O Lord; consider my trouble from those who hate me,
O You who lifts me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may recount all Your praise
in the gates of the daughter of Zion,
that I may rejoice in Your salvation.
15 The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made;
their own foot is caught in the net which they hid.
16 The Lord is known by the judgment that He executes;
the wicked one is snared in the work of his own hands. Meditation. Selah

and all the nations that forget God.
18 For the needy will not always be forgotten,
nor will the hope of the poor perish forever.

Psalms 10
1 Why do You stand far off, O Lord?
Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) In arrogance the wicked persecutes the poor;
let them be caught in the devices they have planned.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) For the wicked boasts of his soul's desire;
he blesses the greedy and despises the Lord.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) The wicked, through the pride of his countenance,
will not seek God; God is not in all his thoughts.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) His ways are always prosperous;
Your judgments are high and distant from him;
as for all his enemies, they scoff at him.

for generations I shall not meet adversity."

Do not forget the humble.
13 Why do the wicked despise God? He says in his heart,
"You will require an account."
14 You have seen it, for You observe trouble and grief,
to repay it with Your hand. The unfortunate one entrusts it to You;
You are the helper of the orphan.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man;
seek out his wickedness until You find none.
16 The Lord is King forever and ever; the nations perished from His land.
17 The desire of the humble You have heard, O Lord;
You make their heart attentive; You bend Your ear
18 to judge the orphan and the oppressed; man on earth no longer trembles.

PSALMS 14

Ps 53:1-6

For the Music Director. A Psalm of David.
1The fool has said in his heart,
"There is no God."
They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds,
there is none who does good.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) The Lord looks down from heaven
on the children of men,
to see if there are any who understand,
who seek God.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) They all turn aside,
together they become corrupt;
there is none who does good,
not even one.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
who eat my people as they eat bread,
but do not call on the Lord?
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) There they were in great fear,
for God is with the generation of the righteous.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) You shame the counsel of the poor,
but the Lord is his refuge.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 )Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion!
When the Lord turns back the captivity of His people,
Jacob will rejoice, and Israel will be glad.

Psalm 14

there were any that did understand, and seek God.

they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
[5] There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the
righteous.
[6] Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
[7] Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD
bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel
shall be glad.

PSALMS 16

A Miktam of David.

1 Preserve me, O God,
for in You I take refuge.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2 ) I have said to the Lord, "You are my Lord;
my welfare has no existence outside of You."
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5 ) For the holy ones who are in the land,
they are the majestic ones; in them is all my delight.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8 ) Those who chase after other gods,
their sorrows will be multiplied;
their drink offerings of blood I will not offer,
nor lift their names on my lips.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup;
You support my lot.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
yes, an inheritance is beautiful for me.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 ) I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel;
my affections also instruct me in the night seasons.

PSALMS 19

For the Music Director. A Psalm of David.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the firmament shows His handiwork.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) Day unto day utters speech,
and night unto night declares knowledge.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) There is no speech and there are no words;
their voice is not heard.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Their line has gone out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
In them has He set a tent for the sun,
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
it rejoices as a strong man to run a race.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Its going forth is from one end of the heavens,
and its circuit extends to the other end,
and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) The law of the Lord is perfect,
converting the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) the statutes of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2) the fear of the Lord is clean,

Cleanse me from secret faults.
13 Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be upright
and innocent from great transgression.

be acceptable in Your sight,

and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) For You meet him with the blessings of goodness;
You set a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) He asked life of You, and You gave it him,
length of days forever and ever.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) His glory is great in Your salvation;
honor and majesty You set on him.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) For You place blessings on him forever;
You make him rejoice with gladness with Your presence.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) For the king trusts in the Lord,
and by the lovingkindness of the Most High
he will not be moved.
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6 ) Your hand will find out all Your enemies;
Your right hand will find out those who hate You.
9 (Ps 38:6; 18:2 ) You will make them as a fiery oven
in the time of Your appearance;
the Lord will swallow them up in His wrath,
and fire will devour them.
10 (Ps 42:3; Joel 2:17) You will destroy their offspring from the earth,
and their descendants from among the children of men.
11 (Ps 42:5; 43:5) For they intended evil against You;
they devised evil thoughts they will not be able to accomplish.
12 For You will make them turn their back,
when You aim with Your bowstrings against their face.
13 Be exalted, Lord, by Your strength;
may we sing and make music to Your might.

Psalms 21
[1] The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how
greatly shall he rejoice!
[2] Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the
request of his lips. Selah.
[3] For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a
crown of pure gold on his head.
[4] He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for
ever and ever.
[5] His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid
upon him.
[6] For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him
exceeding glad with thy countenance.
[7] For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most
High he shall not be moved.
[8] Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find
out those that hate thee.
[9] Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the
LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
[10] Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from
among the children of men.
[11] For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous
device, which they are not able to perform.
[12] Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make
ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

Luke 15:8-10

The Parable of the Lost Coin

8 "Or what woman, having ten silver coins
(Gk. drachmas, each worth about a day's wage.)
and losing one, does not light a candle and sweep the house
and search diligently until she finds it?
9 And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors,
saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost.'
10 (Heb 1:14) Likewise, I tell you, there is joy in the presence
of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

[8] Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece,
doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she
find it?
[9] And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours
together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had
lost.
[10] Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of
God over one sinner that repenteth.

 When I visited Ecuador's Amazon region with my father many years ago, we took
a fun speedboat ride to a small village to take in the sights and learn about 
the local tribes. My dear dad bought me handmade jewelry, including a set of 
earrings. I only wore those earrings on special occasions, including when I 
went to visit my sister for my birthday. When I came back from my trip, 
I was horrified to discover I'd lost one of my earrings. I looked everywhere.

It was just an earring, but I'd have to travel all the way back to the Amazon 
jungle to replace it. Amazingly, when my sister returned to the restaurant we 
had visited for my birthday, she spotted my missing earring in their lost and 
found. I was overjoyed!

Jesus told a parable about a woman who'd lost her silver coin. She wouldn't 
rest while her valuable coin was missing. "Doesn't she light a lamp, sweep 
the house and search carefully until she finds it?" Jesus asked (Luke 15:8). 
And when she found her coin, she greatly rejoiced (v. 9).

Jesus told this story to demonstrate how precious we are to God. He "came to 
seek and to save" those who are lost (19:10). Although we were once lost, 
heaven rejoiced when we were found.

Reflect & Pray

How does it feel to know you're precious to God? 
How does it feel to know heaven rejoices when we're found?

Dear God, thank You for searching for me.

Week 8 Guided by Grace Day 3 - The Promise of Completion

Philippians 1:6

6 (1Co 1:8; Jn 6:29) I am confident of this very thing,
that He who began a good work in you will perfect it
until the day of Jesus Christ.

6 being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun
a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

"Elizabeth is a good student", the note on the side of the report card read,
"but she doesn't finish what she starts. She has a lot of good ideas, but
rarely brings then to completion."
Many of us are like Elizabeth. We start into a new venture with high hopes
and great motivation. But somewhere along the way, we become discouraged.
Someone tells us that our ideas are stupid, or that we are not capable of
doing what we dream. We get a particularly difficult hurdle and give up.
Sometimes we fell the Christian like is like that, too. We start well, and
believe that in Christ we can accomplish anything. But then our prayers
become rote, our Bible reading ritual. We can't seem to regain that sense
of God's presence; we have, we conclude, "Lost our first love." (Rev 2)
But God has a different perspective. He began the work of salvation in us;
he leads and guides us in his will, and he will complete what he has begun.
Often we fail to see God's grace in the ongoing process of walking with him
because his agenda is different from ours. We know what we want to see
happen in our lives; God knows what needs to happen.
"When I first came into a relationship with Christ," one woman explained,
"I knew I had a lot of changing to do. But, strangely enough, the things God
changed weren't on my list at all!"
When God begins his work in our lives, he has a plan for our maturity.
He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. And what God
has begun, he will finish.

Application

a) Have I ever tried to "decide" for God what problems in my life
needed dealing with?

b) Has God ever pointed out issues that were a surprise to me?

c) How can today's verse help me relax in God's will and
have confidence in the direction of my life?

and in the produce of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore

CNMM Networks: Winnipeg

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. 
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting 
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size 
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba. 
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.

Let us intercede in unity for:

- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim 
  communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
  background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith  in Jesus and stood her ground
  in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
   with great support

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

b) Pray that those who serve in law enforcement will have the resources

Conclusion:

Pray to the Lord and pray to know He is in full control despite the wicked.

Pray to the Lord: "Dear God, thank You for searching for me."

Pray to the Lord and pray to know that Lord Jesus Christ
will complete the work in you. 

Pray to the Lord and pray to know the rewards of obedience to Yahwah.

Pray to the Lord and pray to know Yahwah as love.
