Psalms 43
1 Vindicate me, O God,
and plead my cause against an ungodly nation;
deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) For You are the God of my refuge;
why have You rejected me?
Why do I walk about mourning
because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Send out Your light and Your truth.
Let them lead me;
let them bring me to Your holy hill,
and to Your dwelling place.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Then I will go to the altar of God,
to the God of my joyful gladness;
with the harp I will give thanks to You,
O God, my God.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted withinme?
Hope in God;
for I will yet give Him thanks,
the salvation of my countenance and my God.

Psalm 43
[1] Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation:

[3] O send out thy light and thy truth: Let them lead me;
Let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.
[4] Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy:
Yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.
[5] Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me?
Hope in God:
For I shall yet praise him, Who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Psalms 44

1 We have heard with our ears, O God,
our fathers have told us
what work You did in their days,
in the days of old:
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) how You drove out the nations with Your hand,
and planted others instead;
how You afflicted peoples,
and sent them away.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) For they did not take possession
of the land by their own sword,
nor did their own arm save them;
but it was Your right hand, and Your arm,
and the light of Your countenance, because You had favor on them.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) You are my King, O God;
command deliverances for Jacob.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Through You we will push down our opponents;
through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) For I will not trust in my bow,
nor will my sword save me.

and have put to shame those who hate us.

16 from the voice of him who reproaches and reviles,
by reason of the enemy and avenger.
17 All this is come on us,
yet we have not forgotten You,
nor have we dealt falsely in Your covenant.
18 Our heart is not turned back,
nor have our steps deviated from Your way,
19 though You have crushed us in the place of jackals,
and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God,
or stretched out our hands to a strange god,
21 would not God search this out?
For He knows the secrets of the heart.
22 Yes, for Your sake we are killed all the day long;
we are considered like sheep for the slaughter.
23 Awake; why do You sleep, O Lord?
Arise; do not reject us forever.
24 Why do You hide Your face,
and forget our affliction and our oppression?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust;
our body cleaves to the earth.
26 Arise, be our help,
and redeem us for the sake of Your lovingkindness.

Psalm 44

[1] We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us,
What work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
[2] How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them;
How thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
[3] For they got not the land in possession by their own sword,
Neither did their own arm save them:
But thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance,
Because thou hadst a favour unto them.
[4] Thou art my King, O God: Command deliverances for Jacob.
[5] Through thee will we push down our enemies:
Through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
[6] For I will not trust in my bow, Neither shall my sword save me.

And covered us with the shadow of death.

[21] Shall not God search this out? For he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
[22] Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long;
We are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

1 My heart is overflowing with a good thought;
I am speaking my works for the king;
my tongue is the pen of a skilled scribe.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) You are fairer than all the sons of men;
favor is poured on your lips;
therefore God has blessed you forever.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one,
with your splendor and your majesty.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) In your majesty ride prosperously
because of truth and meekness and righteousness;
and your right hand will teach you awesome things.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies;
peoples will fall under you.

A Song of loves.
[1] My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have
made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
[2] Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips:
therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
[3] Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy
majesty.
[4] And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and
righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

1 Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world,
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) both low and high, rich and poor together.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) My mouth will speak wisdom, and the meditation
of my heart will be understanding.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) I will incline my ear to a parable;
I will expound my riddle with a harp.
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) Why should I fear in the days of evil,
when the iniquity of my stalkers surrounds me?
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) Those who trust in their wealth,
and boast in the multitude of their riches,
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) none of them can by any means redeem the other,
nor give to God a ransom for anyone,

my heart and my body cry out for the living God.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Yes, the sparrow has found a home and the swallow a nest
for herself, where she may lay her young, even at Your altars,
O Lord of Hosts, my King and my God.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
they continually praise You. Selah

herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of
hosts, my King, and my God.
[4] Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising
thee. Selah.
[5] Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the
ways of them.

You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.

[1] LORD, thou hast been favourable unto thy land: thou hast brought back
the captivity of Jacob.
[2] Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all
their sin. Selah.
[3] Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the
fierceness of thine anger.
[4] Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
[5] Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to
all generations?
[6] Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
[7] Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
[8] I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto
his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
[9] Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in

1 The city of His foundation is on the holy mountain.
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2) The Lord loves the gates of Zion
more than all the dwelling places of Jacob.
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) Glorious things are spoken of you,
O city of God. Selah.
4 (Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8) I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon
to those who know Me;
look, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia;
"This man was born there."
5 (Ps 42:11; 43:5) But of Zion it shall be said,
"This one and that one were born in her,"
for the Most High shall make her secure.
6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) The Lord shall count when He registers the people,

highest himself shall establish her.
[6] The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was
born there. Selah.
[7] As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my

Psalm 72:12-14

12 Indeed, may he deliver the needy when he cries;
the poor also, and him who has no helper.
13 May he have compassion on the poor and needy,
and save the lives of the needy.
14 May he redeem their life from deceit and violence;
and may their blood be precious in his sight. 

[12] For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him
that hath no helper.
[13] He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
[14] He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall
their blood be in his sight. 

As the Taliban swiftly overran the Afghanistan government in 2021, and tens of
thousands were trapped with no way to escape, many were isolated and 
desperate. Ordinary citizens jumped to action, including one young man who 
launched an Instagram campaign, raising $7 million to pay for chartered 
evacuation flights. "We've shed the political divisions in this situation," he
told a news outlet, "and really come together from all walks of life to rally 
together and save these people." They chose to jump into the fray.

It's not just Afghanistan. From skyscrapers to villages around the world, so 
many people are alone - enduring crushing sorrows. It's stunning, however, to 
see God's attention turned toward these places of suffering and hopelessness. 
Somehow, ultimately, in His own way and time, He will "deliver the needy who 
cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help" (72:12). And remarkably, one 
way God's help arrives is through us. Psalm 72 refers to both King Solomon's 
work and God's work - and it's not always easy to disentangle which is which. 
God is the rescuer, but He calls us to move with Him.

When we encounter injustice or suffering, we can join Him, moving right into 
the middle of the ruin. We can follow God and go into the places where no one
else is there to help.

What situation have you encountered where it seems like there's no one else to
help? How can you join God in that place?

James 1:5

and without criticism, and it will be given to him.

let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally,
and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

A new employee in an electronics plant had the responsibility
for overseeing one machine. The machine worked fine when the young man
came on duty, but soon it began to run a bit rough. The employee
tinkered with the machine, trying to "fix" it, until finally if stopped
working altogether
In fear and trembling the worker sent for the foreman, and stammered,
"I - I, well, sir, I did my best to fix it."
"Son", the foreman thundered, "you need to know only one thing. Around
here, doing you best means sending for me!"
Wisdom, James 1:5 says, has its source in God alone. And if we are
to attain wisdom, we need to learn doing our best means sending for God.
Often we spend time tinkering with our lives or the the lives of others.
We don't think to as God for his wisdom in the decisions we must take;
instead, we use our human reasoning and take our best guess.
But the path to wisdom does not lie in guesswork. The scriptures
give us clear indication of God's direction for his people, and through Bible
study, application, prayer, and meditation,
we can understand what God wants to reveal to us.
"If any of you lacks wisdom," James says, "he should ask God, who gives
generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."
The first step to attaining wisdom is recognising that we are not wise.
The second step is to ask. And God, who is faithful to his Word
and His people, will respond.

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. 
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting 
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size 
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba. 
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.

Let us intercede in unity for:

- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim 
  communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
  background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith  in Jesus and stood her ground
  in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
   with great support

How can we keep praying?

Pray for Muslims you know and those that live around you.

Ask those who are serving Christ among 
Muslim people how you can pray for them.

When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray
for Muslims throughout the year and encourage them to also 
participate in 30 Days.

What should you pray for?

Pray for the leaders of Muslim-majority nations to pursue peace and freedom
in the places they govern.

Pray for Muslim groups, tribes and communities in different regions to have
access to the gospel and respond to the message of Christ.

Pray for families and individuals to know the blessings of God and to be
saved and come to a knowledge of the truth.

My paternal side is of Muslim heritage and will offer this section to further
call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity
(Hindus, Jews, aboriginals Canadian, ...) .

I) Pray for the leaders of Quebec,
that God's Spirit would influence
then to act justly,
