Day 120, 30 April 2025 

1) PSALMS 133
A Song of Ascents. Of David.

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brothers to dwell together in unity!
2 (Ps 63:1; 84:2 ) It is like precious oil upon the head,
that runs down on the beard-
even Aaron's beard-
and going down to the collar of his garments;
3 (Ps 79:10; 80:5) as the dew of Hermon,
that descends upon the mountains of Zion,
for there the Lord has commanded the blessing,

Truly Trusting God </a>

Psalm 32:6-11

6 (2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8-9) For this cause everyone who is godly will pray to You
in a time when You may be found;
surely in the floods of great waters
they will not reach him.
7 (Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3) You are my hiding place;
You will preserve me from trouble;
You will surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah
8 (Job 35:10; Ps 63:6) I will instruct you and teach you
in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye on you.

thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not

shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
[8] I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I
will guide thee with mine eye.
[9] Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding:
whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto
thee.

mercy shall compass him about.

The stray cat mewed pitifully, stopping me in my tracks. I had just walked 
past a pile of food that someone had carelessly discarded on the ground. 
Wow, God's provided a meal for this hungry cat, I thought. The food was hidden
behind a nearby pillar, so I tried to lure the emaciated cat to it. It moved 
toward me trustingly - then stopped and refused to follow me further.
 I wanted to ask, Why don't you trust my directions? 
 There's a whole meal waiting for you!

Then it struck me: Don't I act similarly in my relationship with God? 
How often have I responded to His directions thinking, I do trust You, God,
 but I don't think Your instructions are reliable - not realising 
 that His divine provision might be waiting right around the corner.

God's paths are trustworthy, for He loves us and has our best interests 
at heart. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; 
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you," He tells us (Psalm 32:8). 
Yet He doesn't treat us like animals that need to be controlled (v. 9). 
He desires for us to follow Him willingly and promises His everlasting 
presence as we do so: "The Lord's unfailing love surrounds 
the one who trusts in him" (v. 10). All we need to do is just keep 
following Him, knowing that He'll be with us every step of the way.

What fears or concerns keep you from trusting God completely? 
What is He guiding you to do at this time?

Dear Father, please teach me to trust 
You completely, for I know You love me 
and desire nothing but the best for me.

Week 5 Rejoice in Grace - Day 4 Under the Mercy

Ps 13:5-6

5 I for my part confide in Your kindness;may my heart exult in Your salvation!
6 I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

In Sheldon Vanauken's book "A Severe Mercy", Vanauken faced the "severe mercy"
of the untimely death of his wife. His friend C. S. Lewis , who had endured a
similar grief , comforted him through letters,
encouraging him with the exhotation, "Go under the Mercy".
While God's grace deals with sin and forgiveness,
God's mercy deals with the pain pf human existence. We all experience pain
- sometimes as a natural result of wrongs we have done, sometimes unfairly
as a consequence of living in a fallen world.
But for all who hurt, God provides
mercy - respite from pain, and the assurance of a Lord who cares.
David , in Psalm 13 says " I trust in your mercy, your unfailing love."
God's love never fail us, no matter how much we may have failed him.
David knew the consequences of sin; he knew what it meant to fail God,
to rebel against God's faithfulness. Yet David trusted in God's Goodness
rather than depending upon his own; he focused his attention upon the
mercy of the Lord.
We need, like David, to "Go under the mercy", even when it is a
"severe mercy."
Even when circumstances seem bad; even when things seem out of control; even
when we think God has forsaken us, yet his mercy is at work to bring us
fulfillment and cause us to turn to him
with a song of praise on our lips.

Application

Quick facts on Muslims in Manitoba

Manitoba 2015 population  1 282 000

est Muslim Population      21 349

CNMM Networks: Winnipeg

The Muslim population of Manitoba, understandably centred in Winnipeg, is very
diverse and represents some 48 different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. 
Conservative estimates put their number at 21000 , with some suggesting 
it might be twice that size.
Some outreach among Muslims has started, yet in comparison to the size 
of this community, there is the need and opportunity for far more engagement.
Continued influx of new immigrants and refugees continues to see the growth
of this Muslim centre in Manitoba. 
We rejoice in the Arabic fellowship meeting there and the energetic workers
among Muslims in Winnipeg.

Let us intercede in unity for:

- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim 
  communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
  background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith  in Jesus and stood her ground
  in the face of opposition to her new faith.
- for current workers among Muslims to be blessed, refreshed and encouraged
   with great support

When the new moon is sighted it marks the beginning of t he new Islamic month
and Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", will start! After 30 days
of fasting, the Eid celebration at the end of Ramadan is a joyful time that
usually lasts about 3 days. Muslims will buy new clothes, exchange gifts and,
of course, enjoy special foods. In Muslim-majority nations, the streets may be
decorated and festivals will be held.

For many Muslims, Eid-al-Fitr begins with communal prayers at daybreak and the
distribution of money (zakat) to the poor, which is one of the 5 pillars of
Islam.

You can greet Muslim friends during this time by saying "Eid Mubarak",
which means Blessed Eid!"

Ramadan is over for this year, but you can continue to pray for Muslims you
know, and Muslims around the world:

- Despite the unsettling developments in our world today that involve actions
in the name of Islam, there is at the same time a largely untold story about
unprecedented movement to Christ among Muslims. There have been more such
movements of thousands or more new disciples among Muslims in the last three
decades or so than in all the previous history of Christian Muslim
relationships! Pray for this momentum to continue.
Acts 2:12-17 : 17 "In the last days it shall be," says God,
"that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
18 Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below:
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
and the moon into blood, before that great and glorious day of the Lord comes.
21 And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."[a]

- Pray for Christian workers an organisations focused on seeing effective
discipleship movements among Muslim people.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to continue to inspire you to have god's heart for
Muslims, to see them as He does, and to be the light that then to Jesus.

hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do men light a candle and put it under
a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the
house."

Ideas for prayer

- Pray for opportunities to show the love of Christ to Muslims around you
- Pray for, and offer generous hospitality to, those you know who are serving
Christ among Muslim people -
Romans 12:13 "contribute to the needs of the saints, practice hospitality."
- When you gather with fellow believers, remember to pray for Muslims
throughout the year and encourage them to also participate in 30 Days!

"My name is Kam. I'm 29 years of age, and I grew up Sikh. As a teenager, 
I struggled with depression, brokenness, and addiction to
cannabis. I didn't know how to stop or how to get help.

Then a friend invited me to church. As I spent time with Christians 
and heard the message of the Gospel, I experienced the
love of Jesus Christ, and it was like nothing I'd known before.

call for Muslim converts to Christian and any other converts to Christianity

Conclusion:

Pray to the Lord and pray to dwell within unity with the Brethren.

Pray to the Lord: "Dear Father, please teach me to trust 
You completely, for I know You love me 
and desire nothing but the best for me."

Pray to the Lord and pray to experience the Lord's Mercies. 

Pray to the Lord and pray to choose the Lord's directions!

Pray to the Lord and pray to know you are a creation of Lord Jesus Christ.

Agree in prayer with us for:
- new Christian workers among Manitoba's growing Muslim population
- new church ministries focused on prayer, equipping and reaching Muslim 
  communities around them, as well as training new workers
- the Arabic fellowship and their ministries of discipling new Muslim
  background believers and for effectiveness in outreach
- for the recent Somali woman who found faith  in Jesus and stood her ground

will experience God's assuring presence and peace.
