I bought an iphone – because it will talk inside my hearing aids. I
find I dislike backing the phone up to their iCloud as it can cost me
extra money with my carrier. I found the phone can be backed up by
using the Apple Device app on my new Asus's build Win11, connect the
iphone's usb-c cable to the corresponding port on the new build. Seems
to work, though I never actually tried to recover a sick phone.

I thought it would be handy to be able to perform the backup on my old
Abit build, but it doesn't have a usb-c port. So I bought this
converter plug

I installed the Apple Device app on Win10 on the old machine. When I
run the app it tells me to connect my iphone. When I connect nothing
happens (phone is supposed to acknowledge, then you can start the
backup from the computer).

I am suspicious of the converter plug, is it legitimate for the use
I'm trying to put it to?
