Managed Switches vs unmanaged Switches

I am wondering what are the benefits of a managed switch over unmanned, and what are the benefits of an unmanaged switch over a managed switch. If money was not an issue which one would you use and why. If you had a network full of unmanaged switches, would you switch to managed switches? or would you leave them as unmanaged switches.
