I skip the question and comment this. Wouldn't it be much easier
to just make a middle click on a folder to open it in a new Tab?
In most cases a new Tab is the better choice and if you really need
a new window, use the mouse to move the Tab outside the explorer
window to open a new window for this Tab.

I use mouse button 4 to open a folder in a new Tab and make this
Tab the active Tab and mouse button 5 to close the active Tab.
This way a can, with only two mouse clicks, open a folder to see its content
and then close it (without moving the mouse pointer to any menu entry).
