I had Mandrake on one box and don't recall having any problems with it. It was a long time ago but iirc it was a shrink wrapped box featuring a penguin with a magic wand. That killed any defense when Hearst sued. Compared to installing Slackware from a couple of boxes of floppies it was polished.
