Problem with Wireless Connection

My home computer is running Windows XP Home and had no problems connecting to the Internet via a Linsys Wireless G router until late last week. Now it will not connect to the Internet, and I get the message that it is connected to the acces point but that the Internet cannot be found. Other computers are protecting via the same router and not having any problems.
I have tried System Restore, to no avail. I have also run AVG to check for viruses but am told that it cannot scan 578 items that are supposedly archives that are password-protected.
Any ideas and/or suggestions would definitely be appreciated. Thanks for your help.
