sluggish Yahoo group or AVG

Hi,
I am using XP home with JAWS 8 and AVG free edition. I have an AMD 1.5 and
768 mg of ram.
When I respond to a Yahoo group, my typing seems to get sluggish.
I know the AVG slows the system down while it does its scanning, but it
should not be this way for the entire time on the computer.
Might more ram help? Is it the Yahoo group format? Should I hit control r,
or click on the web response button at the bottom of the page.
