Hello All: I'm having a problem sending messages using Windows Mail on a Microsoft Windows Vista machine running JFW 8.0. I get the dialog that pops up saying "some errors occurred while performing the requested tasks." The message is "the connection to the server has failed," with error code: 0X800CCC0E. I looked this up in the Microsoft Knowledge Base and it says there that I might get this error code if I am signed into MSN as MSN won't let me use another SMTP server to send messages. Here's the thing, though. While I do have Windows Live Messenger on my Vista machine, I have not signed in and I have it set up so it will not run when I start the computer. The account settings are all correct in Windows Mail. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this problem? Again, Messenger is on my computer but I don't have it running. There is nothing for Live Messenger or MSN in either my startup group under All Programs or in msconfig under the startup tab. Thanks in advance for any help.
