Fonts In Office 2003

Good morning, VICUG listers,

I've recently installed Microsoft Office 2003, Student and Teachers 
Edition--which I didn't remember I had purchased years ago until it 
turned up in my spring cleaning, and which, since I'm no longer a 
student, has saved me the expense of purchasing Office 2007 now. I'm 
running Windows XP, SP2.

I write to ask for help with a problem I'm having with fonts in MS 
Word (and possibly with the other Office programs as well, though I 
haven't checked).

In Word, invoking the Format Menu, then choosing Font brings up a 
list of only four fonts:

Times New Roman
Device Font 10cpi
Device Font 12cpi; and
Device Font 17cpi.

WordPad, on the other hand, displays a huge list of fonts, which 
reside in c:\Windows\Fonts.

Can anyone tell me how to tweak Word (or Office) 2003 to obtain fonts 
from this directory? I've looked through the Tools, Options dialogs 
in Word without success; perhaps I missed something.
