Generating in the LKB

Hi all,

I'm doing a PhD-project on machine translation and had hoped to use the LKB 
(and possibly the ERG) as my generation component, using simplified MRSs, 
generated in a dependency/Constraint Grammar-analysis, as input. 

But on page 168 in Ann Copestake (very helpful) book, I read that this can't 
be done.

Is this (still) a fact?
