[lkb] Transfer rules

Hi folks,

What's the state of the art on transfer rules these days?
I've come to the end of my grammar engineering course and
want to try to write a few to improve the impressiveness
of our end-quarter MT extravaganza (languages this time 
are Basque, Esperanto, Finnish, Hawai`ian, Latin, Swahili,
and Uzbeck).  Is there any documentation anywhere?  A current
transfer grammar I could look at?
