Cambridge:

1. Post-doctoral Research Associate

The two positions will be part of the new LEXICAL (Lexical Acquisition
across Languages) project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC) in
the form of a Consolidator Grant awarded to Anna Korhonen. The aim of the
project  is to develop a novel computational framework for learning and
transferring lexical information across languages without the need for
parallel resources. The project will cover a variety of typologically
diverse languages and language domains and will demonstrate the usefulness
for NLP applications such as machine translation.

1. The Research Associate position is for 3 years starting from 1 September
2016. The successful applicant will have completed a Ph.D. degree in
computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, machine learning,
computer science, or a related discipline and will be able to demonstrate
an excellent track record of independent research and strong publications.
Essential skills include: excellent programming skills, statistical natural
language processing techniques, machine learning, as well as proven
collaborative, communication and networking skills. Previous experience
with deep learning and/or joint learning and inference may be considered an
advantage.

2. The PhD studentship is for 3 years starting from 1 October, 2016. The
successful applicant will have a good Master's degree (equivalent of
first-class distinction) in computational linguistics, artificial
intelligence, computer science, or a related discipline, completed by 30
September 2016. He/she will have strong programming skills and previous
experience in NLP and/or machine learning. Previous experience with deep
learning and/or joint learning and inference may be considered an
advantage. The grant covers university fees and maintenance for the period
of three years. Both UK/EU and overseas candidates are encouraged to apply.

The RA  and the PhD student will work with Anna Korhonen as part of the ERC
project team. They will be members of the vibrant and highly

of NLP researchers in the University of Cambridge.
