University of Cambridge:

Post-doctoral Research Associate

The position will be part of the LEXICAL (Lexical Acquisition across
Languages) project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC) in the
form of a Consolidator Grant awarded to Anna Korhonen. The aim of the
project  is to develop a novel computational framework for learning and
transferring lexical information across languages without the need for
parallel resources. The project will cover a variety of typologically
diverse languages and language domains and will demonstrate the usefulness
for NLP applications such as machine translation.

The position is for 3 years starting from 1 September 2016. The successful
applicant will have completed a Ph.D. degree in computational linguistics,
artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, or a related
discipline and will be able to demonstrate an excellent track record of
independent research and strong publications. Essential skills include:
excellent programming skills, statistical natural language processing
techniques, machine learning, as well as proven collaborative,
communication and networking skills. Previous experience with deep learning
and/or joint learning and inference may be considered an advantage.

The RA  will work with Anna Korhonen as part of the ERC project team. S(he)
and will be a member of the vibrant and highly research-active Language
Technology Lab  (http://ltl.mml.cam.ac.uk) at the Department of Theoretical
and Applied Linguistics and the large community of NLP researchers in the
University of Cambridge.
