Testing worked fine for me with a freshly cloned > https://github.com/apache/httpd-tests.git which does not have an Apache-Test directory. Good question... Apache::Test is still needed but was never required in ./Apache-Test, the test framework will use it if installed as normal from CPAN. And it will still use it if you check out a copy in ./Apache-Test. The main advantage of having the externals set up was that we could depend on changes to Apache::Test which haven't made it to a CPAN release. We could ask the Perl PMC to have Apache-Test mirrored to git and then import it again via .gitmodules to get an equivalent setup. Regards, Joe
