Thanks for the thorough follow-up. Fixed in trunk (r1933562) and 2.4
(r1933563):

1. "depending on where the RewriteRule is defined" → "depending on the
directory-path for which the RewriteRule applies"
2. "below" where the rule is defined → "below" the directory-path to which the
rule applies
3. "per-directory (htaccess) RewriteRule" → "per-directory context RewriteRule"
4. "per-directory and .htaccess context" → "per-directory context" (since
.htaccess IS per-directory context)
