Error on Apache 1.3.29

Hi,

I've compiled mod_layout on a Cpanel server.

Cpanel apxs it's on /usr/local/apache/bin

root@machine export PATH=/usr/local/apache/bin:$PATH
make
make install

When like test with a simple 
LayoutFooter "Copyright Foobar, 2000"

Get this error:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd: line 192: 13029 Segmentation fault      (core
dumped) $HTTPD -t


I'm lost.

On compilation any error or warning message .

What it's wrong?
