ip only

I do not have a domain on my computer/apache (linux),
only an ip address. How can I setup the virtual host
without a domain?

Also the faq states: Also, keep in mind that while I
set mine up with VirtualHosts, you could just as
easily use Directory, or Location directives.
I do not understand what directives are and how to use
them. I hope somebody can explain or point me to a
link with more details.
