linking to mp3 files

Hello mod,

  although there has been a thread in november about linking
  single mp3 files on a web page to be played thru mod_mp3 i
  didn't completely grasp it:

  making a link like:

  http://tunes.zinkwazi.com:8000/?op=play&song=5f9a6ab7f7fdeaf880917e2c7503022

  is no problem, question is, where do i get the number (is it a
  hash?) from?

  isn't there an easier way to do place links to streaming content
  in a webpage?

  or is there a better approach then mod_mp3 for this?
