I don't know much about container choices in an open-source centric environment. Docker may or may not be an unusual choice in combination with Amanda. It certainly does reduce the potential number of users who might have experienced the same issues that you have. You haven't mentioned anything about your OS or software versions for anything. That information would also be critical to anyone else helping out. As far as who does coding work on Amanda, the lion's share has certainly been done by Zmanda programmers in recent years. However, there are still a number of other programmers who have submitted coding and patches. Anyone is welcome to dive in if they have the time, the skill, and the inclination. As I understand it, patches can be submitted via the users and/or hackers lists and/or addressed to Jean-Louis Martineau <[email protected]>. He's been active on the lists as recently as 21 May 2018.
