script for STAR backup to a set of DVDs

Hi all.
I checked the archive of the last months, but could not find anything related:

I would like to backup a system (30 GB or so) using star to a set of
DVDs (+R DL or +RW).
Due to harddisk limits, I can only produce one ISO image at a time.
Any scripts for this?

Is it recommended to use redundancy increasing tools (like rsbep or dvdisaster)
to compensate potential media errors?
