James has made a fix - and I have just tested this as OK on W10 and Mac

The actual issue was that if the AUP's data folder was
missing/deleted/renamed/moved
then this caused the crash in Audacity 3.0.0 RC03.

In contrast in 2.4.2 this was handled gracefully with proper error
reporting - now the same
obtains with the latest alpha build for 3.0.0.
