This reminds me all too much of R1Soft CDP and it's usage of sqlite to store disk block data... After enough operations on the 'disk safe (what they call the database) it was pretty much useless to try and make the file shrink and we simply had to start all over creating a brand new dump of the server data to a brand new database. I hate sqlite for the record.
