Keith, I think you meant to send this to the Audacity mail list, not to me directly... -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Re: [Audacity-users] codecs and boom Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2017 19:36:55 +0200 From: Keith <[email protected]> To: Lin Sprague <[email protected]> Hello, I use Windows 10 on an Aspire Switch 12 Audacity 2.1.3 Rode 3 microphone into Behringer XENYX USB mixer into the USB port; I use a USB hub port with four slots, one of which takes the output from the mixer. I need at least one other for the USB mouse controller No - I don't use the computer's built-in microphone The bathroom boom might be better described as follows: Quite suddenly as you move down from just above A3 to just below A3 the sound intensity falls quite dramatically; you might better call it a drop-out. In a day or two I'll post the recording I made. Many thanks, Keith On 30/08/2017 19:22, Lin Sprague wrote: > On 8/30/2017 9:10 AM, Keith wrote: >> 1 Audacity offers me two ways of recording - Realtek and USB. >> >> Only Realtek works; USB gives nothing. >> >> 2 In recording with Realtek there is a distinct difference at A3.
