When I was editing an audio just now, I accidentally make the volume sliders to the left of the track to max value as I am dragging the selection tool. I haven't realized what a crazy thing I did, until my ear got exploded!! (That's hyperbole.) And I feel so bad because my body got kind of scared, with fast heart beating and knowing there can be a potentially aural hurt. What about adding an information message box (can be disabled on settings) when the total volume is too loud or something similar to notice user in order to keep their aural health. I noticed Audacity have an unusual care to blinded people compared to other software, I'm not so sure but that may be a problem to them as well, because they have difficulty to know how the volume has been set. I have been playing a game or using a software, sorry I don't remember the details, it does display a messaging box to tell you that your ear may be hurt. I think this is a serious problem although it does not happen frequently and it won't be tackled by only Audacity, as it happens, it matters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot *********** ASKING FOR HELP ************* When asking for help on this list, please include the following information, so we can help you properly: * What operating system you are using (for example, Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.5.1) * Exactly what three digit version number of Audacity you are using (Help > About Audacity, or Audacity > About Audacity on a Mac computer) * If this is a recording problem, what equipment you are recording with, and how is it connected to the computer?
