Apparently, all 64-bit permits more efficient parallel processing in multi-oore processors leading to faster overall performance in multitasking systems (or so I have read). In any case, Apple has made and announced the decision. If there isn’t a 64-bit version of Audacity in 10 months or so, then Audacity won’t be supported in MacOS 10.14.
