Hello

I am using Audacity 2.2.1 on Windows 10 1709 with Behringer UMC404HD as the
audio interface.

I opened up audacity and set the host to Windows WASAPI, the Recording
device to UMC404HD, and the Playback to UMC404HD. I set the channel as 4.

Now I create a new mono track and record, the "Error opening sound device"
error occurs. Without creating any track and I push the record button,
audacity starts to record all 4 channels, without a problem. What I want to
do is record only mono channel instead.

If I switch the host to MME or Windows DirectSound, there is no problem
recording in Mono.

If I set the channel number to 1 and push the record button the same error
occurs. The windows recording device setup for UMC404HD is 4channel, 24bit,
48000Hz. There are other options but all are 4channels.

What can I do to use WASAPI and record in mono channel? (I chose WASAPI
because of its low latency)
