[Feature Request] Tar / GZipped Project File Format (aupz / auz)

It would be really nice if there was a way to save a project and have an option for the entire project to be put into a gzipped tarball with an extension of something like aupz or auz, with the ability of opening the project without manually extracting it's contents each time.

Microsoft Office and other applications take this approach when it comes to managing projects and other documents that are actually collections of files.

I know that this can be an issue for large projects, so perhaps it could be made as an alternative project file format.  It would definitely help with organizing large collections of small projects because of issues with keeping the .aup and _data directory together.  I searched the mailing lists and haven't seen this proposed before.

As the auz/aupz file would be a gzipped tarball of the aup and _data directory, compatibility issues with older versions would be very small as well.

I'd like to see what the thoughts of the community on this are, both from the users and the devs.  It seems that it would be a trivial task for someone familiar with the project and code base to implement this.
