Maybe I'm missing an option or setting ... and I'm not using the program all that much these days. But, I find it annoying that I never know where files are being saved. It seems to me that it would be logical if I were in the directory /home/bob/music/recording/mysong and start audacity from the command line "audacity mysong.wav" saving project files would be to /home.../mysong and if I were to export a selection it would be to that same directory. Alas, it's not so. Seems that project files are saved in the last used directory. And exports ... not sure what the logic is there. So, as a note to myself, I really must check the file dialog for path information before doing a save!!! -- **** Listen to my FREE CD at http://www.mellowood.ca/music/cedars **** Bob van der Poel ** Wynndel, British Columbia, CANADA ** EMAIL: [email protected] WWW: http://www.mellowood.ca ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot *********** ASKING FOR HELP ************* When asking for help on this list, please include the following information, so we can help you properly: * What operating system you are using (for example, Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.5.1) * Exactly what three digit version number of Audacity you are using (Help > About Audacity, or Audacity > About Audacity on a Mac computer) * If this is a recording problem, what equipment you are recording with, and how is it connected to the computer?
