_______record offline in bear vaolley with no internet export final projects converted then save to phone or external harddrive but on phone you can listen to mp3 converted projects from audacity

If you try saving a lot of audio data while Audacity is recording, there's a high chance that it will interrupt the recording because the hard drive will be busy while Audacity is needing to write data. That may not be a problem, as I'm guessing that no-one will ever listen to the entire 24 hour recording, in which case you could use a program such as AutoKey or AutoHotKeys to program a series of 24, 1 hour recordings.

My best recommendation to minimize the chance of losing data, would be to use (at least) two machines, and preferably at least one that does not rely on a computer.

The functionality he seeks is related to the fact that he wants to record live for 24 hours and be protected from data loss in the event of a PC crash. If the Audacity file which is working great could be saved every ‘x’ amount of time or ’x’ amount of size/megabyte then he would be at less risk of data loss in a situation where the Windows PC crashed.

From my reading Audacity saves the info of its recording in a temp file and if there is a crash it will try to restore on restart.


Is there any protective measure he could take to better ensure he does not lose data in the event of a Windows crash????
