If you're using a USB interface with 2 or more mic, or line, inputs you now
have two discreet input sources. In the case of microphones simply position
them to face mostly one *left* and the other  *right**. *Angle them at
least 90 degrees apart so that the stereo image will be the result of
direction and arrival times of the sounds. You will should now be recording
2 separate  input sources, 1 from each mic. If you need to hear it in
stereo you should pan each mic, one left and one right. The same thing
would apply with line or "non mic", sources with the exception that you no
longer have to position them.., just plug them in and pan left and right.
