Csound, PureData, and pipes.

Hi guys, has anyone on here tried making PD send text messages out using 
pipes? I'm not very experienced at PD, but I'd like to try making PD gui 
frontends for some csound instruments of mine. Glyn and I have done this 
before using midi on a loopback driver as the communication interface, and 
I've made a "tui" ( text-user-interface ) using pipes from gvim, so I'm 
wondering if we could do the same from PD but without having to use midi. 
Being able to use line-oriented score events would make the communcation much 
more elegant, and faster too! 

If this is not possible, I think it should be, and some of you who are smarter 
than me should make a PD object to do so. ; )
