There’s always reason to re-try at least once. You might try cleaning the CD if it is dirty. You could use canned air (like photographers use) to gently blow dust out of your optical drive (this is more of a problem now that optical drives are generally used less frequently. You could try ripping it on other computers or other optical drives. Any of those things might result in an error-free rip.
