RE: Ripping

Time is not a big issue to me.  Put a CD in and come back when it says it is done, put the next one and repeat.  It will take what it takes and in the end I will be where I want to be.  The problem is I don’t recognize how to do this.  In EAC along the left side I have four options, clicking “CMP” rips to wav and then compresses to FLAC as that is the compression I have set up.  If I open compression options under EAC tab I see the FLAC set up.  

 

I have yet to add LAME and am unsure of the implications.  It seems I can only have one compression option and I have to resetup that compression whenever I want to use it.  So if I want to be able to use both LAME and FLAC at the same time how do I do that?  If I understand your response it seems I can rip the wav file and then process it in FLAC and then LAME in the same rip execution process.  How do I set up EAC to accomplish this?

It can be done in two steps I believe.  But if you want to try Easy Audio Copy, you will 

see that the process is just, well - easy.  You just set the rip to produce both the MP3 

and FLAC at the same time.  Takes a little longer, but works great.

If I understand correctly, ripping a CD produces a wav file which can then be converted to any format I choose.  That leads to the following questions:

 

1.       Can I convert to both FLAC and MP3 with EAC?  I understand I would need LAME installed, but can both be done and what is the process?
