I’m running Volumio (https://volumio.org/ <https://volumio.org/>) on a Raspberry Pi.  It gets the music from my 8x3TB RAID6 NAS.  I sync that to my iTunes library, which is largely lossless (ALAC), using an Automator/bash script:
