FLAC at 0 doesn't save much space, so there's really very little point to using it at all. --------- The only reason of using FLAC nowadays is file metadata, Storage is not an object like it use to be at least for audio, In the other hand using wav and folder structure is not the best way for everyone especially if you have a large collection of music files, So to stay lossless and have metadata support FLAC is the way to go, its free and widely supported by almost every software and hardware maker. Whether the compression has any purpose or not nowadays? I don't think it does, For me it has little to no effect on the storage capacity available to me, Like you said just see what works best for your device.
