Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply, though I fear I have 
not been totally clear as to what my problem is.

When I rip a cd, EAC finds the tag information as well as the cover art
It applies the tag information, but does not embed the cover art
It does, however, download the cover art to the same folder as the 
ripped music

When I am done ripping the folder looks like the image below.

In the past, I believe EAC would automatically embed the cover art in 
the tag data.
It doesn't do that now and I have to embed the cover art that EAC found 
using MP3tag

What I am asking is:
Does EAC automatically embed the cover art in ripped songs .. in 
particular songs ripped to FLAC
Is there a setting that I need to look at to get it to do that again.
